The Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, High Chief Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, has extended warm felicitations to Christians across Osun State and Nigeria at large on the joyous occasion of Easter.
In his Easter message, Dr. Omoyele described the season as a profound period in the Christian faith, symbolizing the culmination of the 40-day Lenten fast a time devoted to reflection, sacrifice, self-discipline, and spiritual renewal.
He noted that the lessons of Lent and Easter remain vital to nation-building, particularly in fostering unity, tolerance, and mutual respect among citizens.
According to the Commander, Easter serves as a reminder of the virtues of love, humility, and selfless sacrifice, as exemplified in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
He emphasized that these values are essential for sustaining peaceful co-existence and harmony within diverse communities.
Dr. Omoyele therefore called on residents of Osun State, irrespective of religious or ethnic backgrounds, to embrace the spirit of Easter by promoting peace, understanding, and cooperation in their daily interactions. He stressed the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining security and social stability across the state.
While assuring the public of the continued commitment of the Osun Amotekun Corps to safeguarding lives and property, he urged citizens to remain law-abiding and to support security agencies with timely and useful information.
“Easter is not only a celebration but also a call to live in peace and unity with one another. Let us use this period to strengthen the bonds that hold us together as a people,” he stated.
The Corps Commander wished all Christians a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration.
