The leadership of Osogbo has called on residents of the state capital to disregard any information or actions capable of disrupting the existing peace in the town.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the Asiwaju of Osogbo, Retired Justice Kunle Adeigbe, and the Chairman of the Osogbo Action Council, Dr. Jimoh Agboola.
The statement commended past and present governments for recognizing Osogbo’s strategic importance by siting key federal institutions in the town. These include the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Federal High Court, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), National Examinations Council (NECO), Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), as well as the state government secretariat.
It further noted that the natural ruler of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, alongside his subjects, is taking necessary steps to safeguard both state and federal assets within the town.
The leadership also urged neighboring communities to respect established boundaries, warning that misinformation could mislead the public and threaten peaceful coexistence.
