Our neighbor snatched my pastor-husband from me after we invited her to our church program-Grace Abu

A Lagos-based woman, Mrs Grace Abu, during an interview with The Punch correspondent, narrates how her neighbour allegedly snatched her husband and also sent her son to prison.

While narrating how it happened, she said, "The lady in question was once a neighbour in my compound. She had her own husband and their children in her matrimonial home. Our apartments were in the same compound. All of a sudden, she started moving closer to my family after my husband invited her to our church programme."

She testified that the woman initially attended their church willingly and expressed love for the church, saying she loved her children and others in the congregation. She added that the woman later became actively involved in church activities and was often seen assisting her husband with church matters. She said that the woman would sometimes refuse to go home after church services and would stay back instead.

She further stated that some members later complained that they were no longer handling the ushering department because the woman had taken over responsibilities. She said she discussed the matter with her husband, but he did not take any action.

She explained that her husband, who was a pastor, had made the woman his personal assistant, and that the associate pastor had also complained about seeing them together frequently. She added that members reported that they often went out together, including to buy food, and that some even alleged they were seen in hotels, raising concerns about her conduct.

She stated that she initially did not believe claims of an affair between her husband and the woman until she began to encounter them together in the church office. She further added that there were occasions when her husband would come to church, and after service, ask her to take the children home while he remained with the woman.

Narrating how her son, Praise was arrested, she said the woman got her son arrested after her stepson, Samuel, went missing. She confirmed that Samuel was her husband’s child from an affair with the woman.

She stated that her son, Praise, was detained and sent to a juvenile correctional facility after the incident, despite the fact that the missing child had later been found. She added that he was released on March 11 but said she had not seen or spoken to him since his release, as they were not living together and she was separated from her husband.

She further explained that Samuel was reportedly found in an orphanage and later handed over to his mother by the police, although she said she did not understand how he ended up there. She lamented that her son was kept in detention for a long time despite the child being found, adding that the police said they were still investigating, and that she had left the matter to God.
