In a historic and colourful ceremony that attracted traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders, market associations, and residents from across Osogboland, the Ataoja of Osogboland, His Royal Majesty Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, on Friday, May 29, 2026, formally installed His Royal Highness Oba Oyebode Solagbade Sule as the new Oluroki of Dagbolu, Osogbo.
The installation ceremony marked a significant milestone in the history of Dagbolu, a rapidly growing community situated along the Osogbo–Ikirun Road. Representatives of the Osun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs were present at the event and officially presented the Staff of Office to the newly installed monarch, symbolizing the government's recognition and approval of his royal status.
Dagbolu has long been recognized as one of the industrial hubs of Osogboland, hosting major industrial establishments including machine tool industries, steel rolling companies, and several manufacturing firms.
Community stakeholders expressed optimism that the emergence of Oba Oyebode Solagbade Sule as the traditional ruler would further enhance the town's profile, attract new investors, stimulate economic growth, and accelerate infrastructural development.
Speaking shortly after his installation, the newly crowned Oluroki of Dagbolu, HRH Oba Oyebode Solagbade Sule, expressed profound appreciation to the Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, for finding him worthy of the prestigious royal position.
The monarch also extended his gratitude to the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, for facilitating the process that culminated in his ascension to the throne.
Oba Oyebode further acknowledged the contributions and support of prominent personalities and traditional institutions that played vital roles in his emergence. He specifically thanked the Asiwaju of Osogboland, retired Justice Moshud Adekunle Adeigbe, members of the Ataoja-in-Council, Babalojas, Iyalojas, the Osogbo Elders Council, and the entire people of Dagbolu for the confidence reposed in him.
"I am deeply honoured by this responsibility and the trust bestowed upon me by the people of Dagbolu. I assure everyone that I will not disappoint them. My reign will be dedicated to peace, unity, development, and the overall progress of our community," the monarch stated.
The Oluroki pledged to work tirelessly with government agencies, traditional institutions, community organizations, and private investors to transform Dagbolu into a model industrial and commercial centre within Osun State.
He emphasized that his administration would prioritize youth empowerment, infrastructural development, economic expansion, and the promotion of peace and security across the community.
Oba Oyebode also used the occasion to commend security agencies for maintaining peace and order throughout the installation ceremony. He expressed appreciation to the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local vigilante groups, and other security operatives for their commitment to safeguarding lives and property in the community.
Dignitaries at the event described the installation as a new chapter in the history of Dagbolu, expressing confidence that the reign of Oba Oyebode Solagbade Sule would usher in unprecedented growth, prosperity, and sustainable development for the town and its residents.
The ceremony ended with cultural displays, traditional performances, prayers, and goodwill messages from community leaders, who collectively pledged their support for the new monarch as he begins his reign as the Oluroki of Dagbolu, Osogbo.
