The Brave Women Progressive Association has taken a significant step to preserve the legacy of a respected community figure, as it officially laid the foundation for the construction of a bus stop in Ororuwo in memory of the late Chief Adebayo Ajeigbe, fondly called as “Baba Gomina.”
The foundation-laying ceremony, held on Monday in Ororuwo, brought together community leaders, government representatives, and members of the Association in a solemn yet celebratory gathering.
The event was graced by the presence of the Olororuwo of Ororuwo, His Royal Majesty Oba Kamarudeen, as well as the Honourable Commissioner for Government House, Hon. Soji Ajeigbe, son of the late Chief Adebayo Ajeigbe.
Speaking at the event, His Royal Majesty Oba Kamarudeen Adeyemi Adeyanju commended the Brave Women Progressive Association for their thoughtful initiative and unwavering commitment to honoring the memory of Chief Adebayo Ajeigbe.
He noted that the project serves as a meaningful tribute to a man whose life was marked by generosity, service, and steadfast support for community development. The monarch offered prayers for the continued growth and longevity of the Association and its members, while also expressing gratitude for the enduring impact of the late Chief, whose legacy lives on through both his family and the lives he touched.
In her remarks, the Founder and Worldwide President of the Brave Women Progressive Association, Evangelist Matilda Farinde, expressed deep appreciation to the royal father for honoring the invitation and lending his support to the initiative. She also acknowledged the presence of Hon. Soji Ajeigbe, describing him as a worthy representative of his father’s values and contributions to society.
Evangelist Farinde emphasized that the project was conceived as a way to immortalize the late Chief Adebayo Ajeigbe, who during his lifetime provided unwavering support to the Association and stood firmly by its mission. She noted that the construction of the bus stop is not only a symbolic gesture but also a practical contribution to the community, reflecting the spirit of service that defined Baba Gomina’s life.
