The All Progressives Congress (APC), the major opposition party in the contest, secured victories in 11 LGAs, according to the figures released from the various local government areas.
The results show a competitive contest across the state, with Adeleke and the APC candidate trading victories in several parts of Osun.
The figures indicate that Adeleke secured particularly wide margins in some of his strongest areas, including Ede North, Ede South, Osogbo, Ife East and Iwo. The APC, meanwhile, posted notable victories in Irewole, Boripe, Obokun, Ilesa East and Olorunda.
Breakdown of the results
The first result listed is from Boluwaduro, where Adeleke polled 7,118 votes, narrowly defeating the APC, which scored 7,050 votes.
In Ede South, Adeleke recorded a commanding victory with 26,188 votes, while the APC polled 6,219 votes.
At Ife North, Adeleke secured 13,879 votes, against the APC's 9,613 votes. He also won Ilesa West, scoring 16,196 votes to the APC's 12,756 votes.
In Ifedayo, Adeleke polled 7,427 votes, while the APC recorded 6,836 votes.
The APC, however, took Ilesa East, where it secured 16,208 votes, compared with Adeleke's 12,280 votes.
At Ife Central, Adeleke won with 21,171 votes, while the APC obtained 15,913 votes.
The APC also emerged victorious in Boripe, scoring 19,963 votes against Adeleke's 12,448 votes.
In Irepodun, the APC polled 15,713 votes, narrowly defeating Adeleke, who recorded 14,504 votes.
The APC maintained its advantage in Obokun, where it scored 16,120 votes, while Adeleke received 12,023 votes.
Adeleke returned to the winning column in Orolu, polling 12,352 votes against the APC's 10,622 votes.
Adeleke posts strong numbers in Osogbo and Ife
One of Adeleke's strongest performances came in the state capital, Osogbo, where he recorded 36,480 votes against the APC's 30,474 votes.
In Oriade, Adeleke scored 21,343 votes, while the APC recorded 14,863 votes.
At Odo-Otin, Adeleke polled 18,003 votes, defeating the APC's 15,435 votes.
The governor also secured a substantial victory in Ife East, where he received 27,201 votes, compared with 18,600 votes for the APC.
In Ifelodun, Adeleke recorded 21,107 votes, while the APC polled 18,396 votes.
The APC, however, won Atakumosa West, scoring 10,037 votes against Adeleke's 7,479 votes.
Adeleke secured another significant victory in Iwo, where he polled 27,085 votes, compared with the APC's 19,660 votes.
The governor's strongest margin in the listed results came from Ede North, where he scored 35,427 votes, while the APC recorded 10,283 votes.
APC records victories in several LGAs
In Ila, Adeleke won with 16,211 votes, while the APC scored 12,934 votes.
The APC delivered one of its strongest performances in Irewole, where it recorded 29,972 votes against Adeleke's 10,934 votes.
In Aiyedire, Adeleke narrowly defeated the APC, polling 11,073 votes to the APC's 9,910 votes.
The APC again won Atakumosa East, where it recorded 9,936 votes, compared with Adeleke's 7,872 votes.
At Egbedore, Adeleke secured 19,278 votes, while the APC polled 11,194 votes.
In Ayedaade, Adeleke recorded 16,681 votes, narrowly ahead of the APC's 15,719 votes.
The APC won Isokan with 14,063 votes, while Adeleke scored 13,765 votes.
In Ola-Oluwa, the APC also prevailed, polling 10,782 votes against Adeleke's 10,063 votes.
The APC continued its run in Ife South, where it secured 14,678 votes, compared with Adeleke's 13,507 votes.
Adeleke won Ejigbo, recording 18,458 votes against the APC's 16,195 votes.
The final LGA in the list, Olorunda, went to the APC, which polled 24,672 votes, while Adeleke received 23,514 votes.
19 LGAs to Adeleke, 11 to APC
Based on the 30 LGA results supplied, Adeleke won in 19 LGAs, while the APC won 11 LGAs.
Adeleke's victories were recorded in Boluwaduro, Ede South, Ife North, Ilesa West, Ifedayo, Ife Central, Orolu, Osogbo, Oriade, Odo-Otin, Ife East, Ifelodun, Iwo, Ede North, Ila, Aiyedire, Egbedore, Ayedaade and Ejigbo.
The APC won Ilesa East, Boripe, Irepodun, Obokun, Atakumosa West, Irewole, Atakumosa East, Isokan, Ola-Oluwa, Ife South and Olorunda.
The distribution reflects a geographically competitive election, with both parties securing significant support across different parts of the state.
While Adeleke's 19-LGA tally gives him an advantage in terms of local government victories, the final outcome of a governorship election is determined by the aggregate votes recorded across the state rather than simply the number of LGAs won.
The figures also show several closely fought LGAs, including Boluwaduro, Ifedayo, Irepodun, Aiyedire, Ayedaade, Isokan and Ola-Oluwa, where the margin between the two leading candidates was relatively narrow.
At the same time, Adeleke recorded sizeable margins in Ede South, Ede North, Iwo, Ife East and other areas, while the APC posted major victories in Irewole, Boripe and some other LGAs.
The results listed above are therefore a snapshot of the LGA-level figures presented as INEC-declared results. The final state-wide declaration by the appropriate electoral authority remains the decisive stage in formally determining the winner of the Osun governorship election.
