YAI CELEBRATES OSUN STATE AT 35, CALLS FOR RENEWED COMMITMENT TO YOUTH, UNITY AND DEVELOPMENT

The Youth Advancement Initiative (YAI), Osun State Chapter, heartily congratulates the government and good people of Osun State on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the creation of the State.

Osun State was created on August 27, 1991, out of the old Oyo State, with Osogbo as its capital.

At 35, Osun has travelled a remarkable journey shaped by the sacrifices, resilience, creativity and determination of generations of its people. From our rich cultural heritage to our contributions to education, agriculture, commerce, public service, entertainment and human development, Osun continues to hold a significant place in the Nigerian story.

As a youth-focused organisation, YAI believes that the celebration of Osun at 35 should not only be an occasion for festivities, but also a moment for reflection, accountability and renewed commitment to the future of the State.

The youth constitute a significant part of Osun's population and represent the energy, innovation and human capital required to drive the next phase of the State's development. We therefore call for greater investment in youth empowerment, quality education, entrepreneurship, digital skills, employment opportunities, sports, agriculture and meaningful youth participation in governance.

We equally commend the contributions of past and present leaders, civil society organisations, traditional institutions, community leaders and, most importantly, ordinary citizens whose sacrifices and commitment have contributed to the growth and development of Osun State over the past 35 years.

YAI urges all stakeholders to continue to promote peace, unity, tolerance and responsible citizenship, particularly as the State continues to navigate important political, economic and social challenges.

We believe that the Osun of the future must be a State where young people are not merely seen as beneficiaries of government programmes but are recognised as active partners in governance and development.

On this historic occasion, we encourage every son and daughter of Osun to remain committed to the ideals of Omoluabi, uphold the dignity of our State and contribute positively to building a more prosperous, peaceful, inclusive and sustainable Osun.

The journey to 35 is a testament to how far we have come. The responsibility before us now is to ensure that the next 35 years are defined by greater opportunities, stronger institutions, inclusive development and a brighter future for generations yet unborn.

The Youth Advancement Initiative (YAI), Osun State Chapter, wishes all residents and indigenes of Osun State a happy and memorable 35th anniversary.

Happy 35th Anniversary, Osun State.

Osun at 35 — Our Heritage, Our Strength, Our Future.
