On this auspicious occasion, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, Ph.D., BL, the National Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), alongside the leadership and members of the Alubarika Movement, warmly celebrates the Mother of the Nation, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON,the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,on her 66th birthday.
At 66, we celebrate a distinguished woman whose decades of public service have been marked by a steadfast commitment to education, youth development, women’s empowerment, and the welfare of families and vulnerable Nigerians.
From her tenure as First Lady of Lagos State, Senator Oluremi Tinubu demonstrated a strong commitment to human development through the New Era Foundation, which championed initiatives including the Lagos State Spelling Bee, youth development programmes, and the Alternative High School for Girls, creating opportunities for young people and providing a second chance for girls whose education had been disrupted.
Her years in the Senate provided another platform to advance issues concerning women and social development, while her present role as First Lady of Nigeria has further expanded this commitment through the Renewed Hope Initiative, with programmes focused on women’s economic empowerment, girl-child education, agriculture, healthcare, and support for vulnerable Nigerians.
The Alubarika Movement celebrates this enduring record of service and her contributions to expanding opportunities for women and young Nigerians to attain greater dignity, economic independence, and fulfilment.
