The Otun Babaloja of Sasa Market, Osogbo, and representative of the Ataoja of Osogbo in markets across the city, Alhaji Chief Kamarudeen Yusuf Efe, has congratulated the National President of the Osogbo Progressive Union (OPU), Alhaji Lateef Olayanju, on his appointment as a member of the Governing Council of the Osun State University (UNIOSUN) by the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.
In a congratulatory message, Alhaji Chief Kamarudeen Yusuf Efe described the appointment of Alhaji Lateef Olayanju as a well-deserved recognition of his years of commitment, service and contributions to the development of Osogbo and the wider society.
He described the OPU National President as a “round peg in a round hole,” expressing confidence that his wealth of experience, leadership qualities and understanding of community development would add significant value to the Governing Council of the university.
According to him, Alhaji Olayanju has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to the progress and development of Osogbo, particularly through his leadership of the Osogbo Progressive Union and his various contributions to the growth and welfare of the people.
“Alhaji Lateef Olayanju is a man who has distinguished himself through dedicated service to humanity and the development of our dear Osogbo. His appointment to the Governing Council of UNIOSUN is not only timely but also a recognition of his capacity and contributions to society.
“I am confident that he will bring his wealth of experience, wisdom and leadership to bear on his new assignment and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of Osun State University,” he said.
Alhaji Yusuf Efe further prayed for wisdom, good health and success for Alhaji Olayanju as he takes on the new responsibility, urging him to continue to uphold the values of service, integrity and commitment to the development of the people.
Yusuf Efe Congratulates Adeleke on Re-election
In the same vein, Alhaji Chief Kamarudeen Yusuf Efe extended his warm congratulations to the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, on his victory and renewed mandate at the just-concluded governorship election in the state.
He described Governor Adeleke’s re-election as a testament to the confidence reposed in his administration by the people of Osun State, noting that the victory reflects the governor’s achievements and his administration’s efforts in the area of infrastructure and other sectors of development.
According to him, the governor’s performance, particularly in infrastructural development, has continued to receive attention and recognition across the state.
He therefore urged Governor Adeleke not to relent in his efforts to improve the lives of the people, but to remain focused on delivering more democratic dividends and sustainable development across Osun State.
While congratulating the governor once again on the renewed mandate, Alhaji Yusuf Efe specifically appealed to him to fulfil the commitments and promises made to the people of Osogbo during the electioneering campaign.
He stressed that the people of Osogbo had listened to and trusted the promises made by the governor, and would be looking forward to their fulfilment.
“Osogbo is an important part of Osun State and the people of the state capital have great expectations from the administration. During the campaign, various promises and commitments were made to our people, and we believe the governor will honour those promises.
“We therefore appeal to His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, to remember the commitments made to Osogbo and ensure that they are fulfilled. The people have demonstrated their trust and support, and they deserve to see the promises translated into tangible development,” he said.
Alhaji Yusuf Efe also called on the people of Osogbo and other stakeholders to continue to support the administration and contribute positively to the peace, progress and development of the state.
He expressed optimism that the renewed mandate of Governor Adeleke would usher in greater development, particularly in Osogbo, while also praying for wisdom and strength for the governor to successfully steer the affairs of the state.
He concluded by reiterating his goodwill to both Alhaji Lateef Olayanju on his appointment to the UNIOSUN Governing Council and Governor Ademola Adeleke on his electoral victory, wishing them success in their respective assignments and continued service to the people.
