... Pledges Unwaivering Support For Garnering 1.5m Votes Target
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied setting up of a parallel presidential campaign committee different from the one inaugurated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the running of his presidential campaign which he appointed the Governor Ademola Adeleke its state co-ordinator.
The separate campaign committee which is in place in Osun State is the Parliamentary Campaign Committee saddled with the responsibility of campaigning for the APC national and houses of Assemblies' candidates with the governorship candidate of the APC in the last election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji AMBO, as its Director-General.
Nothing could have warranted our party to inaugurate a parallel presidential election campaign committee when it is in the public domain that Governor Adeleke who has offered to work with other political parties in the state to garner over 1.5 million votes for President Tinubu in the forthcoming presidential election has been appointed the campaign committee co-ordinator for the important exercise.
We have said it times without number that we are grateful to Governor Adeleke for his demonstrated resolve to lead the campaign for our presidential candidate and that we are ready and willing as a party to work with him .
The event of last Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Park, Osogbo, in the state capital, was a testimony of our resolve to work with the governor in the overall electoral victory of our presidential candidate.
Our appeal is to the agents of evil machination to desist from trying to bring rancour, division and disunity to the rainbow coalition which is evidently yielding bountiful results.
It is expedient to state that Asiwaju Oyebamiji remains the Director-General of our parliamentary campaign organization and that he is as well jointly promoting the good works of our presidential candidate to garner as much as over 1.5 million votes for the President.
It is necessary for us to express our pleasure to some of the state Exco members of our party for calling the attention of the party to the omission of their names (only four out of 35 Exco members) from the list as reported in some social media on Tuesday.
It's our conviction that the resentment of the said state executive members of our party was an indication to the fact that they were desirous to be counted among active participants of those who made the campaign list of the Oyebamiji-led parliamentary campaign council of the Osun State APC.
