The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Switzerland Chapter, Amb. Dr. Adebayo Alfonso, has vehemently condemned the recent allegations made against the APC National Secretary, Senator Dr. Ajibola Basiru. The accusations, which were leveled by an individual named Bisi Balogun, who falsely claims to represent the Atlanta, Georgia APC, allege that Senator Basiru is involved in fraudulent activities. Amb. Dr. Alfonso has dismissed these allegations as baseless and entirely without merit.
In a strongly worded statement, Amb. Dr. Alfonso asserted that the allegations are nothing more than an orchestrated attempt by certain disgruntled individuals to destabilize the APC and disrupt the peace and unity that the party is currently enjoying. These malicious claims, he said, are the handiwork of enemies who seek to undermine the party's progress, particularly targeting key party leaders such as Alhaji Umar Ganduje, the APC National Chairman, and Senator Dr. Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary.
Amb. Dr. Alfonso stressed that the APC under the leadership of these dedicated and hardworking individuals has witnessed significant progress, and such false allegations are an unfortunate effort to tarnish the party's image. He expressed confidence in the integrity and commitment of Senator Dr. Basiru, whose contributions to the APC’s success have been immense. The Chairman emphasized that the National Secretary has demonstrated exceptional leadership and loyalty to the party, and such attacks will not distract him from his mission to serve the party and the nation.
In addition to condemning the allegations, Amb. Dr. Alfonso reiterated his full support for Senator Dr. Basiru, affirming that the APC Switzerland chapter stands firmly behind him. He called on the general public and all members of the APC to disregard these unfounded claims, as they are the work of those who are determined to disrupt the party’s unity and progress.
Amb. Dr. Alfonso further pointed out that these baseless allegations are a clear indication of the lengths to which certain elements within and outside the party are willing to go to cause division.
