Tribute To Remi Abass, by Comrade Amitolu Shittu

A politician with unlimited courage, unprecedented humility and unalloy  loyalty personified.

William Shakespeare in Julius Caesar (spoken by Mark Anthony during his eulogy for Ceasar) said "The evil that men do lives after them, the good is oft interred with their bones..." Who killed Omoloju Oluremi Abass,  former Chairman,  Irewole Local Government, Ikire,  Osun State ?

This should not go the way of other unresolved political assassinations experienced  in the past in Nigeria.

I believe in the tenacity and strong capacity of Dr Kayode Egbetokun, CFR,the current Inspector- General of Police in Nigeria,  as well as Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, the Director- General,  Department of State Security Services in Nigeria.

However, to help on your discreet investigation into this callous, wicked and ungodly killing of Chief Remi Abass, former  Chairman,  Irewole Local Government one of 774 Local Governments in Nigeria.

Therefore,  the EFCC must be involved in the investigation to unmask the sponsor, actor and the executer of Remi Abass' gruesome assassination and how much involved ? The movement of the money can be tracked and the assailants will be smoked out.

Investigation may be placed on compulsory crimes tripod angles as some of the sponsors and assailants may not be too far from Ikire Community,  as it is very clear that “ Ole koni ja agba ko ma se oju ni firi” also it is “impossible for an outsiders to know the exact location where a blind man was buried in a family compound”.

Remi Abass a brave, generous, humbled politician would be sorely missed. He was a good giver to underprivileged, courageous, loyal, consistent  fellow.

Remi was a security conscious person,  he was an active player and my supporter when Amotekun was established by former Governor Gboyega Oyetola as the first Governor in Nigeria to establish such agency and appointed me as it Pioneer Director-General Osun Amotekun

Remi, a brilliant political strategist will only succumb to a very good superior argument if need be, he will travel from Ikire  to Osogbo only to visit me to give encouraging words. Remi was never a betrayal of trust. Remi stood for a good principle and ever ready to sacrifice his comfort for others. Remi can sacrifice anything he has for a genuine cause he believed in and put his life on line for it and adopt the principle of serving people and humanity.

Samuel Bjork in his book said “No one is safe in the DARK, the owl always hunts at night” the direction where the enemies of democracy and promoter’s of nepotism are going in 2026 has been shown to the world.

If Remi’s killers are currently enjoying the privilege of the obnoxious section 308 of 1999 Military imposed Constitution, it does not stop investigation into the gruesome murder and the collaborators at the National Assembly, state Assembly or political appointees or state cabinet member long arm of investigation must cover all as espoused by the  Supreme Court.

Omoloju of Ikire Kingdom,  Chief Remi Abass was at ILERIOLUWA's office along Km. 3Gbongan/Ibadan Road, Òṣogbo last Sunday 16th February 2026, together with his colleagues and political associates.  He came to my seat and prostrated to greet me and said “Oga eku ijoko sir” later Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji wanted  to have a tete a tete  with him.  Remi knelt down and I said to myself "what a humble man." After taking the message from Asiwaju Oyebamiji, he stood up and said “Oga Jagunmolu ese sir”

I was devastated to read on the face book page of Comrade Lamina Omotoyosi on Monday that Oluremi Abass the son of a man has been killed in a  cruel and gruesome manner.  Why did  Remi’s assailants have to go  this  far ? This satanic assassination must be thoroughly investigated and UNMASKED the perpetrators.

Aderemilekun Abass Akin ninu Akin, ogbontarigi oloselu, ake kaka koloro’gbo, Erin wo ! Erin subu koledide, Ajanaku sun bioke. Odi gbere odigbose. Abass odarinako, odoju ala firi. Sunn re oo !

Adieu

Omoloju Oluremi Abass,  the face of the poor people and epitome of humility and loyalty
