Senator Francis Fadahunsi Joins Vice President Kashim Shettima at 7th Expanded National MSME Clinics in Akure

Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industry and representative of Osun East Senatorial District, participated in the 7th Expanded National MSME Clinics held in Akure, Ondo State, alongside the Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima.

During the launch event in Akure, Senator Fadahunsi praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic policies, particularly highlighting the ₦250,000 grants awarded to outstanding MSMEs as a generous gift from the Nigerian government to support local industry champions.

He stated, “I commend President Tinubu’s steadfast commitment to grassroots enterprises. Every exceptional MSME identified at this clinic will receive an unconditional grant of ₦250,000.”

Senator Fadahunsi emphasized the critical role of MSMEs in the Tinubu administration’s economic strategy, stating that they are the true engines of poverty alleviation, creating jobs and opportunities essential for sustainable development.

He added, “This administration is intentional in delivering results, using platforms like MSME Clinics to connect the Federal Government directly with job creators, innovators, and community visionaries.”

Highlighting the significance of hosting the Expanded MSME Clinic in Ondo State, the senator noted that these clinics provide small businesses an invaluable chance to interact directly with regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and business support organizations.

Senator Fadahunsi also detailed several other initiatives under President Tinubu’s leadership, including a ₦75 billion MSME Intervention Fund managed by the Bank of Industry (BoI), a ₦50 billion Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme offering ₦50,000 to one million nano businesses across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas, and a ₦75 billion Manufacturers Fund that allows manufacturers to access up to ₦1 billion in funding at a 9 percent interest rate.

He concluded by stressing that the purpose of these interventions is to ensure that the challenges of small business owners are addressed through practical, direct engagement and problem-solving, rather than theory or wishful thinking.
