Brigadier General Biodun Bashir Adewinmbi (Rtd), former Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, has strongly cautioned criminals/political thugs loyal to the PDP/ACCORD parties to immediately desist from attacking or harassing APC members and supporters who are lawfully wearing AMBO/APC caps and other campaign souvenirs.
He emphasized that such actions are not only provocative but also a clear violation of the fundamental rights to freedom of association and expression, which are guaranteed under the law. According to him, no individual or group has the authority to intimidate or suppress others based on their political affiliation or choice of expression.
General Adewinmbi further stated that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State will not take such misconduct lightly, particularly in Osun West Senatorial District where the party enjoys strong support. He warned that continued acts of aggression or political intolerance could disrupt the peace and stability of the state, which must be preserved at all costs.
*He therefore urged the PDP and ACCORD to be guided, respect democratic principles, and ensure that their supporters conduct themselves in a peaceful and law-abiding manner.*
“Let this serve as a clear warning—any further attempt to harass or intimidate APC members will be firmly resisted within the bounds of the law. All political actors must embrace peace, tolerance, and mutual respect as we approach the electoral process,” he concluded.
