According to high-level party sources, Engineer Dr. David Olusegun Okanlawon has emerged as the consensus candidate to fly the APC flag for the Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
Widely known for his professional background and active community engagement, Okanlawon’s emergence is being viewed within party circles as a strategic move aimed at presenting a strong and united front ahead of the general elections.
In a parallel development designed to ensure equitable geopolitical representation, the party leadership has officially zoned the State House of Assembly ticket to Ibarapa North Local Government Area.
Following the zoning arrangement, Alhaji Tajudeen Salaudeen Amoo has emerged as the consensus candidate for the State Assembly seat. Amoo, a former Caretaker Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government, is regarded as an experienced grassroots politician and administrator with extensive knowledge of local governance.
Party insiders disclosed that the adoption of the consensus arrangement was deliberately designed to prevent internal disputes, strengthen party cohesion, and facilitate a seamless primary process ahead of tomorrow’s elections.
Although formal ratification is expected to take place at the designated primary venues during the primaries, the emergence of Okanlawon and Amoo has already reshaped the political atmosphere across the constituency, setting the tone for the APC’s campaign preparations ahead of the general elections.
