Good Day, Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) must uphold the provisions of the new Electoral Act 2026 in the selection of its candidate for the Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency.
The New Electoral Act 2026 is clear:
_All political parties shall submit their digital registers of members to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at least 21 days before any primary, congress, or convention. Only members whose names appear in the submitted digital register shall be eligible to vote or contest in party primaries._
Hon. Oluga fails this fundamental requirement. She was not duly registered as a member of the APC in Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency (or even in Osun State) within the stipulated time. Her name therefore does not exist in the authentic digital register submitted to INEC. This renders her ineligible to contest or emerge as the party’s flag bearer for the House of Representatives seat.
Compounding this disqualification is the emergence of a doctored APC membership card purporting that she registered in Ubandawaki Ward, Ilorin West LGA of Kwara State. This card is inconsistent with the constituency she seeks to represent and raises serious questions of forgery and deliberate deception. A candidate who relies on a questionable membership card from another state cannot legitimately claim membership status in our constituency under the Electoral Act.
The party cannot afford to impose an ineligible candidate on the people of Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan. Such an imposition not only violates the Electoral Act but also insults the integrity of the APC primary process and the democratic aspirations of our constituents. It creates unnecessary legal exposure that could lead to the disqualification of the candidate at the tribunal and ultimately harm the party’s chances in the general election.
Yesterday's declaration of the President also asserts that everyone should go to a Direct Primary in situations where consensus fails _"Where consensus fails, I urge us all to go into the primaries as brothers and sisters."_ - President Bola Ahmed Tinubu -May 14, 2026.
We therefore call on the APC leadership at all levels, from the Ward to the National Working Committee, to respect the Electoral Act 2026 and the digital register submitted to INEC. The rightful path is to allow eligible and duly registered members from the constituency to contest fairly.
The people of Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan deserve a candidate whose membership is transparent, verifiable, and compliant with the law.
Let the process produce a legitimate flag bearer, not through imposition, but through adherence to the Electoral Act. Anything short of this is a walkover for mediocrity and a betrayal of the trust reposed in our great party.
The choice is clear: uphold the law or risk judicial embarrassment. The register does not lie.
