The Olumegbon of Ajah Ile and Okun Ajah Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba AbdulLateef Kolawole Olumegbon IV, has congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the commencement of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448.
In a statement made available to the press through his palace, the revered monarch joined millions of Muslim faithful in celebrating the new Islamic calendar and prayed for Allah's continued blessings, guidance, peace, and prosperity upon them.
Oba Olumegbon urged Muslims to use the occasion of the Hijrah celebration as a period of sober reflection, spiritual renewal, and fervent prayers for the peace, unity, and progress of Nigeria. He called on the faithful to continue supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through prayers and constructive engagement aimed at fostering national development.
The royal father also expressed concern over the security challenges facing the nation, particularly the plight of citizens who remain in the captivity of kidnappers and criminal elements. He appealed to Nigerians to pray for the safe release of all victims and for divine wisdom, strength, and protection for the nation's security agencies as they continue to safeguard lives and property.
According to the monarch, security is a collective responsibility that requires the cooperation of government, security agencies, traditional institutions, religious leaders, and citizens. He therefore urged Nigerians to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and committed to the promotion of peace and national unity.
Oba Olumegbon further prayed that the Islamic New Year would usher in greater peace, economic prosperity, security, and stability for Nigeria and the entire world. The monarch wished all Muslim faithful a happy and rewarding Hijrah 1448 celebration.
