In a goodwill message issued to commemorate the beginning of the new Islamic calendar, Mr. Abduljeleel described the Hijrah celebration as a significant moment for Muslims to reflect on the historic migration of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Makkah to Madinah, an event that symbolizes faith, sacrifice, perseverance, and unwavering trust in Allah.
According to him, the Hijrah serves as a reminder of the importance of spiritual renewal, moral uprightness, and collective responsibility towards building a peaceful and prosperous society. He noted that the lessons embedded in the historic migration remain relevant in addressing contemporary challenges facing individuals, communities, and the nation at large.
The LAUMGA Osogbo Branch Chairman urged Muslims to embrace the values of patience, tolerance, honesty, and compassion, while also strengthening their commitment to the teachings of Islam. He emphasized the need for the Muslim faithful to use the occasion to pray for peace, security, and sustainable development in Osun State and Nigeria.
“Hijrah is not merely a celebration of a new year; it is a call to self-assessment, spiritual growth, and positive transformation. As we begin another Islamic year, Muslims should renew their commitment to righteousness, unity, and service to humanity,” he stated.
Mr. Abduljeleel further encouraged members of the association and the wider Muslim community to continue promoting harmony, educational advancement, and community development, stressing that collective efforts are essential for national progress.
He also called on leaders at all levels to govern with justice, fairness, and accountability, while urging citizens to support initiatives that foster peace and social cohesion.
On behalf of the executive members and entire membership of LAUMGA Osogbo Branch, Mr. Abduljeleel wished all Muslims a blessed and rewarding Hijrah celebration, praying that Allah grants the Ummah abundant blessings, divine guidance, good health, and success throughout the new Islamic year.
