Ataoja of Osogboland Commends Governors, Traditional Rulers, Ministers and Dignitaries For Honouring Late Mother of APC National Scribe, Sen. Ajibola Basiru, At Grand Fidau Ceremony In Osogbo


The Ataoja of Osogboland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, Larooye II, has expressed profound appreciation to governors, eminent traditional rulers, ministers, senators, political leaders and distinguished personalities from across Nigeria who graced the final Fidau prayers held in honour of the late mother of the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Dr. Ajibola Surajudeen Basiru, in Osogbo on Saturday.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the revered monarch described the overwhelming attendance at the solemn occasion as a remarkable demonstration of love, respect and solidarity with Senator Basiru and the entire Basiru family during their moment of remembrance.

Oba Olanipekun specifically appreciated the presence of the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke; the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun; the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji; the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola; Former Governor, Chief Bisi Akande, APC Governorship Candidate Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, Former Deputy Governor, Mrs Titilayo Ponle, Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta State, Asiwaju Khamis Tunde Badmus, NPA ED Marine and Operations, Engr. Dr. Olalekan Abdulrahman Badmus, Osogbo Elders Council, alongside other governors, ministers, senators, members of the National Assembly, traditional rulers, religious leaders, chiefs, captains of industry and political stakeholders from across the country.









According to the monarch, the impressive turnout underscored the enduring values of unity, compassion and mutual respect that define the Nigerian people, while also reflecting the high esteem in which Senator Dr. Ajibola Basiru is held across political, traditional and social circles.

The Ataoja noted that the calibre of personalities who attended the Fidau prayers was not only a tribute to the memory of the deceased matriarch but also a testament to Senator Basiru's dedication to public service, his commitment to national development and his enduring relationship with people across diverse backgrounds.

Oba Olanipekun further applauded the unwavering support and goodwill being extended to the APC National Secretary, describing him as one of Osogbo's most illustrious sons whose contributions continue to project the city positively on the national stage.

"The presence of eminent personalities from across Nigeria at the Fidau ceremony speaks volumes about the respect and admiration Senator Dr. Ajibola Basiru has earned over the years. It also demonstrates the love people have for Osogbo and our traditional institution," the monarch stated.

The royal father also thanked all traditional rulers, Islamic clerics, community leaders, political associates, friends and well-wishers who travelled from different parts of the country to identify with the Basiru family, praying that Almighty Allah grants the departed Aljanah Firdaus and continues to strengthen the family with comfort, wisdom and enduring peace.

The Ataoja concluded by praying for continued peace, unity and progress in Osogboland, Osun State and Nigeria as a whole, while encouraging citizens to continue promoting the values of love, compassion and communal support exemplified during the Fidau ceremony.
