Several MRS filling stations across Abuja and nearby areas have remained without Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) for about a week, following recent changes in petrol pricing by Dangote Refinery.
Checks revealed that many of the outlets have not received fresh fuel supplies since July 17, 2026, leaving customers unable to purchase petrol.
A station manager, who requested anonymity, disclosed on Friday that the supply disruption began last Thursday. According to him, deliveries are expected to resume following Dangote Refinery's decision to restart petrol sales in naira.
The refinery had temporarily halted gantry sales of petrol in naira on July 15 but resumed the transactions on Thursday with a revised ex-depot price of N1,215 per litre, up from N1,175 per litre.
The return of naira-denominated sales has helped reduce uncertainty in Nigeria's downstream petroleum market. Despite this, marketers and depot operators have increased petrol prices multiple times within the past week.
Petrol is currently selling for between N1,300 and N1,340 per litre at various filling stations across parts of Abuja.
