The Youth Advancement Initiative (YAI), Osun State Chapter, warmly welcomes the recent redeployment of the former Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, and expresses its profound appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for demonstrating responsiveness to the concerns and aspirations of the youths and people of Osun State. This development reflects the importance of constructive civic engagement and reinforces public confidence that the voices of citizens matter in strengthening democratic institutions and improving security.
We equally extend a warm welcome to the newly deployed Commissioner of Police, CP Samuel Etaifo Erale, as he assumes the responsibility of leading the Osun State Police Command at a crucial period in the history of our State. As Osun prepares for the forthcoming Governorship Election, the expectations of the people are high, and the responsibility on the new Commissioner is even higher. His professionalism, competence, leadership, and commitment to justice will be closely observed through his ability to guarantee peace, maintain law and order, and provide adequate security for all residents without fear or favour.
The Youth Advancement Initiative respectfully urges CP Samuel Etaifo Erale to remain impartial, professional, and non-partisan in the discharge of his constitutional duties. The Nigeria Police Force must continue to serve as a neutral institution that protects every citizen irrespective of political affiliation, ethnicity, religion, or social status. We further encourage him to adopt a youth-friendly policing approach by building stronger relationships with young people, promoting community policing, responding promptly to security threats, and ensuring that the lives and property of Osun youths and all citizens receive the highest level of protection.
YAI assures the new Commissioner of Police of its readiness to support every lawful initiative aimed at promoting peace, public safety, and credible elections. We believe that with fairness, integrity, professionalism, and effective collaboration between the Police and the public, Osun State will continue to enjoy stability before, during, and after the Governorship Election.
