The Oluroki of Dagbolu in Osogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Oyebode Solagbade Sule, has extended warm congratulations to the Ataoja of Osogboland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, Larooye II, on the occasion of the 2026 Osun-Osogbo Festival, describing the annual cultural celebration as a symbol of the rich heritage, unity, and spiritual identity of the Yoruba people.
In a congratulatory message released to commemorate this year's festival, Oba Sule praised the Ataoja for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to preserving the customs and traditions of Osogboland. He noted that the continuous growth and global recognition of the Osun-Osogbo Festival are testaments to the Ataoja's dedication to promoting the cultural values and historical significance of the ancient kingdom.
The Oluroki commended the Ataoja for fostering peace, harmony, and development across Osogboland, adding that the monarch's reign has strengthened unity among traditional institutions and enhanced the cultural prestige of the town both within Nigeria and internationally.
Oba Oyebode Solagbade Sule also applauded the efforts of the Osun State Government, the festival organizers, traditional chiefs, devotees, and residents whose collective commitment has sustained the festival as one of Africa's foremost cultural and spiritual events.
He described the Osun-Osogbo Festival as more than an annual celebration, saying it remains a powerful platform for showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba race while promoting tourism, economic activities, and intercultural understanding.
The royal father offered prayers for the continued good health, wisdom, and long reign of the Ataoja of Osogboland. He expressed optimism that the ancient kingdom would continue to enjoy enduring peace, remarkable progress, and greater prosperity under the monarch's leadership.
