The President of the Brave Women Progressive Association, Evang. Matilda Farinde, has called on all residents and eligible voters across Osun State to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and committed to the democratic process as the state approaches its election.
In her message to the people of Osun State, Evang. Farinde emphasized that elections are not only an opportunity to choose leaders but also a defining moment that will shape the future of the state for generations to come.
She appealed to citizens to resist every form of inducement, especially vote buying, stressing that the temporary benefits of collecting money in exchange for votes cannot compare to the long-term consequences of electing leaders who do not genuinely represent the interests of the people.
According to her, "Your vote is your voice, your right, and your responsibility. Do not exchange your future for temporary financial gain. The money may be spent in a day, but the impact of your decision at the polls can determine the quality of education, healthcare, security, infrastructure, and economic opportunities for our children and future generations."
Evang. Farinde further urged voters to conduct themselves peacefully before, during, and after the election, encouraging everyone to reject violence, intimidation, hate speech, and any act capable of disrupting the peace and stability of Osun State.
She called on all stakeholders including political parties, candidates, youth groups, women, community leaders, and security agencies to play their respective roles in ensuring a free, fair, credible, and peaceful electoral process.
"As responsible citizens, we must stand together to protect our democracy by voting wisely, choosing leaders of integrity, competence, and accountability, and preserving the peace that binds us as one people," she said.
The Brave Women Progressive Association reaffirmed its commitment to promoting civic responsibility, peaceful coexistence, and good governance, while encouraging every eligible voter to participate actively in the electoral process without fear or intimidation.
Evang. Matilda Farinde concluded by expressing confidence that the people of Osun State would make decisions that would advance development, unity, and prosperity across the state.
God bless the good people of Osun State.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Signed:
Lady Evang. Matilda Farinde
