Senator Ajibola Basiru of Osun Central Senatorial District has hinted that the Amotekun Corp will soon have constitutional backing.
Senator Basiru gave the hint during visit to the training ground of the Amotekun Corp in Ejigbo. He disclosed that immediately he heard about the creation of the security outfit, he informed the DAWN Commission to give the formation all necessary legal backing.
Charging the recruits to be committed to the training for the safety of Osun and by extension Yoruba land, Senator Basiru appreciated the State Government, the Board of Amotekun, Ejigbo people and the Principal of Wole Soyinka Grammar school where the training is taking place for the resources committed to hosting the cadets. He reiterated his resolve to see that that his bill on the creation of the State police sees the light of the day.
Earlier, Chairman of the Corp,Brigadier Ademola Aderibigbe rtd thanked the lawmaker for visiting the camp. Brigadier Aderibigbe described Senator Basiru's visit as a morale booster for the trainees.
Field Commander of the Corp, Comrade Amitolu Shittu expressed happiness for the Senator's visit to the cadets, clarifying that Senator Ajibola Basiru was the first of the Senators from Osun to visit the Amotekun Corp training camp in Ejigbo.
