— Says governor's priority of workers' welfare earns him union's 'Award of Excellence'
President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Osun State Chapter, *Dr. Kehinde Ogungbangbe*, has said that workers in the state would display their solidarity as a compensation for *Governor Adegboyega Oyetola's* priority of workers' welfare by voting him en masse during July 16, 2022 governorship election in the state.
The Osun State President of NULGE whose conviction was obvious said: "Only enemies of progress in the state would not vote Oyetola for second term, given the governor's purposive, populist and development-oriented governance, which has recorded great strides within three years".
Dr. Ogungbangbe stated this yesterday while featuring on *a weekly radio programme, 'Ilerioluwa Half-Hour'*, hosted by the largest sociopolitical Group in Osun, *Ilerioluwa Vendors*, which is committed to propagation of good governance in the state.
Speaking on the live broadcast, the NULGE President described performance of the *Governor of the state, Adegboyega Oyetola* as a corollary to the Award of Excellence recently given to him by the national body of the Union in Abuja.
According to him, there's a cordial relationship between Oyetola led government and workers in the state, adding the Governor's responsiveness to workers' needs precipitated the cordiality.
"It's now, after Oyetola's assumption of office, and prompt payment of workers' salaries till date that we can plan to do something with our monthly earnings. Before this administration, our take-home, by that I mean our salary, can't take us home.
"I want to commend and once again, appreciate governor Oyetola for his priority of workers' welfare in the state.
"There's at least a worker in every house in Osun, and that's why people refer to Osun as a civil servant state. So, when a government does not fail in its statutory obligations to the workforce, you can be assured of the popularity of such a government in this state", Dr. Ogungbangbe said.
Speaking further on the next governorship election in the state, he said: "As a reasonable coach wouldn't change a winning team in football, the good people of the state should not make a mistake of changing the performing government of Oyetola, saying doing so would retrogressively take the state backward."
