In celebration of the 50th birthday of His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, the Nigeria Port Authority Executive Director of Operation, Engr. Olalekan Badmus FNSE, extends his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the revered monarch.


As the Ooni marks this significant milestone, Engr. Badmus recognizes the profound impact that Oba Ogunwusi has had on the Yoruba people and beyond. Since ascending the throne, he has demonstrated exemplary leadership characterized by dedication, compassion, and a commitment to fostering cultural heritage and unity.


Engr. Badmus notes, “Oba Ogunwusi’s reign has been marked by a vision for peace and progress. His efforts in promoting cultural awareness and social development have not only uplifted the Ife community but have also inspired many across Nigeria and the diaspora.” 


"For five decades, Ooni Ogunwusi has lived an exceptional life, dedicated to promoting the culture, unity, and progress of Yorubas. 


"His Imperial Majesty's visionary leadership has tremendously impacted the development of Ile-Ife and restored the pride in monarchy with varying strides of purpose in uplifting humanity.


Under his wise and dynamic stewardship:


•⁠  ⁠Yoruba monarchs have been united, fostering cooperation and understanding;

•⁠  ⁠Cultural heritage has been revitalised, showcasing the richness of Yoruba too the world;

•⁠  ⁠Inter-generational dialogue has been encouraged, ensuring continuity and growth".


He commends his initiatives that encourage education, entrepreneurship, and women’s empowerment, which are vital to the growth and development of society.


In his statement, Engr. Badmus emphasizes the importance of celebrating leaders who embody the spirit of their people. “The Ooni’s dedication to his royal duties and his genuine concern for the welfare of his subjects are commendable. His ability to unite diverse groups under a common goal of peace and prosperity is truly inspiring,” He adds.
