What a monumental National Tragedy! Akol Mourns the loss of Lagbaja.
Prof. Siji Olamiju, also known as Akol, a prominent leader in All Progressives Congress in Osun state, has expressed his deep condolences over the sudden passing of Lt. Gen. Taoreed Abidodun Lagbaja, describing his demise, is a rude shock. As a renowned figure, Lagbaja's demise is a significant loss to Osun State and Nigeria as a whole.
Lagbaja was a highly accomplished individual, born on February 28, 1968, in Ilobu, Osun State. He served as the 23rd Chief of Army Staff, appointed by President Bola Tinubu on June 19, 2023. During his tenure, Lagbaja demonstrated exceptional competence, contributing significantly to the nation's peace and development.
Prof. Olamiju acknowledged Lagbaja's remarkable achievements, sympathizing with President Tinubu, the people of Osun, and particularly those in Irepodun Local Government, Ilobu, where Lagbaja hailed from. Olamiju emphasized the difficulty in filling the void left by Lagbaja's passing, praying for God's comfort to be with the people of Osun and Ilobu, and urged the Kabiyesi Oba Asiru Olaniyan Olobu of Ilobu and our leader Engr Sola Akinwumi the Chairman Agba Osun APC to accept this tragedy in a good faith.
