2026 WCQ: Chelle Unveils 31-Man Super Eagles Squad for Rwanda, South Africa Clashes

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has announced a 31-man squad for Nigeria’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.

The Super Eagles will host Rwanda in early September before traveling to face South Africa in Bloemfontein on September 9. Both fixtures are crucial as Nigeria looks to revive their qualification hopes for the tournament, which will be hosted jointly by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Chelle has retained several key players including Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface, Stanley Nwabali, Calvin Bassey, and William Troost-Ekong.

There is a first-time call-up for Sevilla striker Jerome Adams, while forward Terem Moffi returns to the squad after a lengthy injury layoff.

Nigeria currently sits fourth in Group C with seven points, trailing South Africa, Rwanda, and Benin Republic.
