The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly called AMBO, has felicitated Muslims in Osun on this year's Maulud Nabiyy, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad.
Oyebamiji, a leading aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, extolled Osun citizens and residents, particularly Muslim Ummah, for their fervent prayers, resilience and steadfastness in the face of economic challenges.
The NIWA boss, in a statement personally signed and made available to journalists in Osogbo, called for renewed faith and dedication which the festivity exemplifies.
According to him, Maulud Nabiyy is a period of sober reflection on the worthwhile existence and righteous life lived by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).
Oyebamiji urged Muslims to celebrate with moderation and extend love, compassion, kindness and empathy to one another as shown by the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
"As Muslims across the globe celebrate yet another Maulud Nabiyy, it behooves on us as Muslim Ummah to imbibe the teachings and lessons of the festivity as exemplified by the pious Prophet Muhammad. Maulud Nabiyy, no doubt, signifies piousness, righteousness, purity, faithfulness, sacrifice, selflessness, stricter obedience to Allah's Commandments and adherence to teachings and lessons of Prophet Muhammad.
"It is a time of sober reflection and rededication to the Will of Allah. It is a period to strengthen brotherhood, sisterhood and good neighbourliness by extending hands of fellowship to one another. Let's use the occasion to beseech the face of God through vehement prayers and supplications for our state in particular and country in general", Oyebamiji admonished.
