In a shocking development, police authorities in Yenagoa have arrested Miss Victory Benard Henry Tee Salvage, the girlfriend of George Idumangi — the prime suspect in the murder of 42-year-old estate agent, Richard Ekpebu.
Miss Salvage was taken into custody following an intelligence-led operation that uncovered a cache of weapons allegedly linked to her and her fugitive partner. Items recovered during her arrest include:
One pump-action shotgun
Five live cartridges
Two empty AK-47 magazines
Ten walkie-talkies
Ten chargers
Three AK-47 rifle slings
Authorities say the discovery raises serious concerns about the extent to which associates of criminal suspects may be aiding or enabling illegal activity.
“This case highlights the disturbing trend of individuals, particularly intimate partners, choosing to remain loyal to suspects involved in serious crimes, rather than distancing themselves or cooperating with law enforcement,” a police spokesperson stated.
Investigators believe Miss Salvage may have been aware of, or complicit in, her partner’s alleged criminal activities, including the brutal killing of Ekpebu. Her arrest adds a new layer to the ongoing manhunt for Idumangi, who remains at large.
Law enforcement agencies are urging members of the public to come forward with any information that could lead to his capture. Meanwhile, Miss Salvage is currently in custody as investigations continue.
