Residents of Osogbo, Osun State, have been left worried and frustrated following the sudden closure of a company that allegedly collected money from customers for food items at seemingly cheaper prices.
The company, located in the Odi-Olowo area of Osogbo, reportedly sold items such as rice, cooking oil, spaghetti and semovita at prices that attracted a large number of customers.
According to some affected customers, the company collected payments upfront and instructed buyers to return about one weeks later to collect their food packages.
However, customers who arrived at the company’s premises this morning reportedly found the business closed, leaving many of them uncertain about the whereabouts of their money and the operators.
Some affected residents said they had paid substantial amounts in anticipation of receiving their food items, while others claimed the company had attracted a significant number of customers over the past few months.
Aggrieved customers gathered at the premises on Monday morning, demanding answers and seeking the recovery of their funds.
As of the time of filing this report, the operators of the company were reportedly unreachable, while the circumstances surrounding the sudden closure remained unclear.
Affected customers are calling for urgent intervention and clarification to help determine what happened to their payments.
