I Was Sick For 5 Years - Nollywood Actor Reveals What Happened After Shooting A Military Story Movie

Popular Nigerian actor Abdukabir Adekunle Iyiola, better known by his stage name Kabest, opened up about the struggles that kept him away from the movie scene for several years. He made the revelation during an interview.

Kabest disclosed that the setback began after he produced a military-themed movie in which he invested over ₦2 million. According to him, the entire project was lost due to technical issues with the editing system and hard drive where the film was stored.

He said, “Something big happened within some period of time that made people not to see me in movie often. Within that time, but I thank God that you didn’t cry for me that I’m not d£ad. It happens after shooting a movie of mine that I spent more than 2 million Naira on. It’s like a militant and military story movie. When we finished acting the movie, the day I wanted to go and edit the movie, they told me the system where the movie is having problem and they gave me the hard drive. Everywhere I go with the hard drive, they told me that the hard drive cannot be recovered, that the hard drive is not good anymore.”

The actor further revealed that he had sensed danger before the incident, claiming he had dreams about the project and had even shared them with his spiritual adviser.

“I didn’t think it’s natural because I have also seen some sign about this situation before it happens. I dreamed about it twice. I dreamed about the particular movie which I told my spiritual father. He told me that I should pray more often about the movie. It made me very s!ck. I couldn’t sleep for 2 weeks. Then I started vibrating. Later I noticed my left leg started shaking and my hands,” he said.

Kabest explained that the trauma of l0sing the film triggered a long term illn£ss that lasted for five years. He credited Captain Eniola Alao, a film director, for offering support during that difficult period.

“I was sick for 5 years. The day I felt okay and happy, even though I didn’t have money then, anytime money enters my account, I get sick again,” he added.
