A widow to an American citizen, Mary Moore, who was abducted on her way to board a flight at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, has been rescued after spending 72 hours in captivity.
Family sources confirmed that Moore was kidnapped on September 8, 2025, around 5:30 p.m. in the Wuse Zone 3 area of Abuja while heading to catch an Air Peace flight to Lagos.
She was scheduled to attend a U.S. immigration visa interview at the consulate the following morning.
According to security operatives, Moore was seized by armed men and whisked away to an undisclosed location later traced to neighbouring Nasarawa State.
“The team kept tracking and searching until she was eventually found on September 11, almost unconscious, in a community in Kubwa, Abuja,” a security source disclosed.
The kidnappers were said to have dispossessed her of $2,000 and other valuables before abandoning her.
Though shaken by the harrowing experience, Moore has since been discharged from hospital and is reportedly responding well to treatment.
