In a video shared by Symfoni TV, Solomon Dalung, a former minister, has stated that the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike lost almost all his investment in Rivers State when the people of the state rejected godfatherism.
According to Dalung, the federal government was upset by this and subsequently weakened Governor Siminalayi Fubara's authority in Rivers. He said Fubara was suspended from office and replaced by a sole administrator who now controls both the government and the state’s resources.
In Solomon Dalung's words: "The people of Rivers State rejected godfatherism and that was what offended the federal government. Because the godson of the president, who is the minister of the FCT, Wike, actually lost almost all his investment in Rivers with the rejection of godfatherism by the people, so the governor (Fubara) had to be whipped into order. So they shoved him aside and put the resources of the state and the government at the disposal of a sole administrator"
