The Former Member of the Osun State House of Assembly representing Osogbo State Constituency and Chairman, AMBO Movement, Osogbo State Constituency, Hon. Engr. Badamasi Olatunde Taofeek Abolubode (BOT), has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the revered traditional ruler and eminent political leader, HRM Oba Adegboyega Famodun, the Owa of Igbajo and former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State.
Oba Adegboyega Famodun, the 30th Owa of Igbajo, reportedly joined his ancestors on Friday after a brief illness, marking the end of a distinguished era in both the traditional and political spheres of Osun State.
In a heartfelt condolence message, Hon. Badamasi described the monarch’s transition as “a monumental loss to the people of Igbajo, the Osun APC family, and the entire state.” He noted that Oba Famodun was a rare blend of royal dignity and political ingenuity whose contributions to communal development, party unity, and state progress were invaluable.
He further stated that the late Oba Famodun’s wisdom, steadfast leadership, and unwavering dedication to public service would be sorely missed, especially at a time when his guidance and fatherly counsel were needed the most.
“Oba Famodun was not just a traditional ruler; he was a beacon of leadership whose footprints in public service and politics will remain indelible. His passing is deeply painful, not only to Igbajo community and the APC family but to all who had the privilege of benefiting from his wisdom and commitment to societal good,” Hon. Badamasi remarked.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the monarch’s soul and urged the Famodun family, the people of Igbajo, and the APC in Osun State to take solace in the impactful and fulfilled life the late Oba lived.
“May the Almighty grant the departed Oba eternal rest and strengthen everyone he left behind,” he added.
