The Executive Director, Marine and Operations, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Engr. Olalekan Abdulrahman Badmus, FNSE, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Owa of Igbajo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adegboyega Famodun, who until his ascension to the throne served as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State.
Oba Famodun, the 30th Owa of Igbajo, joined his ancestors on Friday after a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy of service, leadership, and unwavering dedication to the progress of his community and the state at large.
In his condolence message, Engr. Badmus described the late monarch as “a distinguished royal father and political pillar whose demise represents an irreplaceable loss to Igbajo, the Osun APC family, and Osun State as a whole.” He noted that Oba Famodun’s wealth of wisdom, stabilizing leadership, and statesmanlike disposition will be profoundly missed, especially at a time when his counsel and experience remained invaluable.
Engr. Badmus highlighted the late monarch’s exceptional contributions both in public service and within the political sphere, emphasizing that “his steady commitment to the party, his unifying leadership style, and his deep sense of duty left an enduring mark on countless lives across Osun State.”
He extended heartfelt condolences to the entire Igbajo community, the Famodun dynasty, the APC family in Osun, and all who were touched by the monarch’s exemplary life. He prayed for God to grant the departed royal eternal rest and to give his family and subjects the fortitude to bear the loss.
