Four Super Eagles players — Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Stanley Nwabali and Semi Ajayi are at risk of suspension ahead of Nigeria’s final Group C match against Uganda at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
The quartet are each one yellow card away from a one-match ban going into Tuesday’s encounter with the Cranes of Uganda, scheduled to kick off at 5pm Nigerian time at the Complexe Sportif de Fès.
Ademola Lookman was booked during Nigeria’s opening group match against Tanzania, while Osimhen, Ajayi and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali picked up cautions in the Super Eagles’ second game against Tunisia.
With Nigeria already assured of qualification for the Round of 16, head coach Eric Chelle may opt to rest the affected players to avoid losing them for the knockout stage.
The Super Eagles have secured back-to-back wins in Group C and will be aiming to complete the group stage unbeaten when they face Uganda later today, Tuesday, December, 30, 2025.
