The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has expressed deep sadness over the passing of Alhaji Fatai Diekola, a prominent Osogbo-born political figure and widely respected political leader in the state.
In a condolence message, AMBO described the late Alhaji Oyedele Diekola as a grassroots mobiliser and bridge-builder whose political journey was anchored on loyalty, principles and the advancement of Osun State at large.
“Alhaji Fatai Diekola belonged to a generation of politicians who understood politics as service to the people.
He was deeply rooted in Osogbo, yet his influence and relationships cut across Osun State.
His passing is a significant loss to our political history,” AMBO said.
He noted that beyond partisan lines, the late Diekola commanded respect for his consistency, humility, and readiness to stand for what he believed was right, adding that his counsel and experience will be sorely missed.
AMBO extended his heartfelt condolences to the Diekola family, the people of Osogboland, political associates, and well-wishers, assuring them of his solidarity in this moment of grief.
“On behalf of my family and the APC family in Osun State, I share in the pain of Osogboland and all who were touched by his life.
May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, reward his service, and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.
May He also comfort his family and grant them strength,” he said.
