The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Ajibola Basiru has commiserated with a former deputy Governor of Osun State Otunba Titi-Laoye Ponnle on the death of her husband, Engineer Tunde Ponnle.
Engineer Ponnle's demise was announced on Saturday morning. Dr Ajibola Basiru in his condolence message described the deceased as a business guru and entrepreneurial giant who used his resources in philanthropic gestures through his Foundation.
"For so many years, Baba rolled out scholarships for brilliant but indigent undergraduates many of whom are doing well in their chosen careers today. Engineer Ponnle lived and lived for others as well by constantly reaching out to the needy. "
"I will continue to have a fond memory of him, our jokes, laughter and my constant 'harassment' of him to pay more bride price for marrying an Osogbo princess. Baba was fun to be with. His age and wealth notwithstanding, he would bring himself down to your level when he engaged you. "
"I use this medium to condole with Otunba Titi-Laoye Ponnle at this moment of grief. While I pray God to grant her the grit to bear the loss, I pray that the deceased find solace at the bosom of the Lord."
