The Chairman of Obokun Local Government, Engr. Maaroof Kayode Ogundipe, has congratulated Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun State election.
In a congratulatory statement made available to newsmen, Ogundipe described Oyebamiji’s victory at the party primary as a well-deserved triumph and a clear testament to his capacity, competence, and long-standing commitment to the growth and development of Osun State.
“The emergence of Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji is a victory for all progressives in Osun State. It reflects the confidence of our party in his experience, integrity, and people-oriented leadership."
AMBO is a true reflection of loyalty, he is a product of progressive leadership, charismatic and competent in all ramification, as a former commissioner for finance, his administrative prowess and financial intelligence served as a pivot which stabilized Osun economically and returned the state to full payment of salaries and pensions, we have no doubt in his capacity to restore the lost glory of Osun and return our dear state to its glory days." Ogundipe said.
The Obokun LG Chairman praised the APC leadership at the state and national levels for conducting a credible and transparent selection through consensus noting that the process has further strengthened internal democracy within the party.
Ogundipe also commended other aspirants who participated in the contest for demonstrating sportsmanship and patriotism by withdrawing from the race for the emergence of Oyebamiji as a unity candidate, urging all party stakeholders to close ranks and work collectively toward securing victory for the APC in 2026.
“This is the time for unity. I call on all APC members, supporters, and well-meaning residents of Osun State to rally behind Asiwaju Oyebamiji as we march together toward reclaiming the state for purposeful and people-centered governance,” he concluded.
Reaffirming his commitment, Ogundipe pledged the full support of Obokun Local Government to the Oyebamiji campaign, expressing confidence that his candidacy will restore hope, accelerate development, and deepen inclusive governance across Osun State.
He concluded by urging party faithful to remain steadfast, disciplined, and focused as the APC prepares for a resounding victory in the 2026 governorship election.
