A prominent indigene of Osogbo, philanthropist, and youth advocate, Hon. Sanusi Afeez, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Osogbo/Olorunda/Irepodun/Orolu Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
As part of activities marking his declaration, Hon. Afeez paid a courtesy visit to the APC State Secretariat in Osogbo, where he officially informed members of the State Working Committee of his ambition. The visit underscored his respect for party leadership and his commitment to due process within the party structure.
Following his engagement at the state secretariat, Hon. Afeez proceeded to his family compounds located at Oke-Baale Katisan and Kanmo Compound in Ward 11, Osogbo Local Government Area, where he received blessings and words of encouragement from community elders and family members. The visits reflected his deep-rooted connection to his heritage and the importance he places on grassroots support.
Continuing his outreach, Hon. Afeez attended the Ward 11 APC meeting, where he addressed party members and stakeholders. In his remarks, he emphasized that his decision to contest stems from a genuine desire to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Osogbo Federal Constituency. He noted that the constituency has lagged behind in critical areas of development and pledged to champion initiatives that will drive meaningful progress.
Hon. Afeez outlined key focus areas of his proposed legislative agenda, including youth empowerment, job creation, improved social amenities, and the sponsorship of impactful bills that will foster sustainable development across the constituency. He reaffirmed his readiness, capacity, and commitment to provide effective and people-oriented representation if entrusted with the APC ticket and ultimately elected into office.
“I am fully prepared to serve and to be a strong voice for our people. Together, we can reposition our constituency for growth, opportunity, and prosperity,” he stated.
In his response, the Ward 11 Chairman, Muftau Lawal, commended Hon. Afeez for his courage and vision in stepping forward to contest for the House of Representatives seat. He expressed pride in Hon. Afeez’s ambition and described it as a bold and commendable move toward representing Osogbo Federal Constituency at the National Assembly in 2027.
Party members and stakeholders at the meeting also expressed optimism about Hon. Afeez’s candidacy, noting his track record in philanthropy and youth engagement as strong indicators of his potential to deliver quality representation.
