The National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Osun State House of Assembly representing Odo-Otin Local Government, Hon. Ibiyemi Sulaiman Ayodeji, has commenced the distribution of writing materials to thousands of pupils across communities in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State.
The initiative is aimed at supporting pupils and easing some of the educational needs of families as schools resume for the new academic session. The distribution covers pupils in both public and private schools across the local government.
In a statement issued through his Private Secretary, Eniola Oladayo, the Inisa-born NDC candidate congratulated pupils, students, teachers, school proprietors, parents, and other stakeholders on the commencement of the new academic session.
Hon. Sulaiman urged pupils and students to remain focused, disciplined, and diligent in their studies, stressing the importance of taking their education seriously as a foundation for a successful future.
He equally charged teachers to remain committed to their profession and dedicated to imparting knowledge, describing them as important architects in shaping the future of the younger generation. He encouraged teachers to take pride in the positive impact they make through the lives and achievements of their students.
While commending parents and guardians for their sacrifices and responsibilities towards the education and welfare of their children, Hon. Sulaiman urged them to remain vigilant and committed to raising responsible children who would become worthy ambassadors of their families, communities, Odo-Otin Local Government, and Osun State.
He emphasised the importance of parental guidance, noting that "charity begins at home," and called on parents to strengthen their efforts in instilling discipline, good character, responsibility, and sound values in their children.
The Odo-Otin State Assembly candidate also appealed to the people of Odo-Otin Local Government for their continued support ahead of the 2027 House of Assembly election.
He pledged that, if elected, he would sustain his commitment to educational development through continuous support for pupils and students, scholarship opportunities, and other initiatives aimed at improving access to quality education across Odo-Otin.
Hon. Sulaiman further promised to work towards ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots and that the people of Odo-Otin receive meaningful, accessible, and people-oriented representation in the Osun State House of Assembly.
The distribution of the writing materials, he said, reflects his commitment to supporting education, empowering young people, and contributing to the overall development of Odo-Otin Local Government.
