The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Committee of Diaspora Chairmen (CDC), Hon. Tunde Doherty, has formally mandated all APC diaspora party leaders worldwide to fully key into the "*Operation Call Home*" programme, a strategic initiative designed to mobilise Nigerians in the diaspora to return home and participate in the 2027 general elections.
In a directive issued today, Hon. Doherty charged all diaspora chapter chairmen and party leaders to actively encourage their members, friends, and families back in Nigeria to register to vote and prepare for the upcoming polls.
The Chairman emphasised that the diaspora community remains a critical stakeholder in the continued success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
KEY DIRECTIVES
1. Universal Participation in Operation Call Home
All APC diaspora leaders across every chapter worldwide are hereby directed to:
Register en masse for voter accreditation in preparation for the 2027 elections.
Actively contact friends and family members in Nigeria to encourage voter registration and participation
Serve as ambassadors for the Renewed Hope Agenda within their respective host countries.
2. Global Tour for Mobilisation
Hon. Tunde Doherty has announced his intention to embark on a worldwide tour beginning this month (October 2026) to meet with diaspora leaders across all continents. During this tour, the Chairman will:
Engage directly with APC chapter executives in multiple countries
Reinforce the importance of diaspora participation in Nigeria's democratic process
Provide strategic guidance on local campaign organisation and member mobilisation
3. Campaign Events and Voter Mobilisation.
All diaspora chapters are instructed to:
Organise campaign events and town halls in their respective countries
Establish voter mobilisation committees at the local level
Coordinate with the CDC General Secretariat on best practices and resource sharing
Promote awareness of the Renewed Hope Agenda's achievements and policy direction.
CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT
In his address, Hon. Doherty stated:
"The 2027 general elections represent a defining moment for our great party and our nation. As Chairman of the Committee of Diaspora Chairmen, I am calling on every APC member abroad to rise to this occasion. We must not only register to vote ourselves but also reach out to our loved ones back home and encourage them to participate. The Renewed Hope Agenda has delivered tangible progress, and it is our duty to ensure that progress continues."
The Chairman further noted that the APC diaspora structure has been strengthened significantly over the past year, with new chapters inaugurated and membership deepened across multiple countries.
