Ido-Osun Set for Grand Coronation of 47th Olojudo

The ancient town of Ido-Osun in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State will come alive tomorrow as it hosts the grand finale of the coronation of its 47th traditional ruler, the Olojudo of Ido-Osun, Oba Olayinka Ishola Oyetunde Jokotola II, Ilufemiloye I.

According to a statement released today by the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee, Mr. Olusanjo Fajobi, the historic event will take place at Aje International Market in Ido-Osun and will attract dignitaries from across the country.

The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, will serve as the Special Guest of Honour. Other high-profile attendees expected include former Military Administrator of Osun State, Colonel Theophilus Bamigboye (Rtd); the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun; and the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, Hon. Bamidele Salam.

Adding royal prestige to the occasion, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, will lead an array of traditional rulers to grace the coronation.

The event will also feature the conferment of a traditional title on Chief Mrs. Dupe Adeleke, who will be honoured as the Yeyeluwa of Edeland.

Indigenes and well-wishers from far and near are expected to gather in celebration of the new monarch, marking a new chapter in the history of Ido-Osun.
