Osun 2026: Vote AMBO for Competent Leadership, Basiru Urges Residents

Dr. Ajibola Basiru joined the campaign train of the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), across Ila, Boluwaduro and Ifedayo Local Governments, where he urged the people to vote massively for AMBO in the coming gubernatorial election. He described the election as an opportunity to restore purposeful leadership and sustainable development in Osun.

Addressing the people, Dr. Basiru dismissed the claim that Osun is a poor state, reminding them that Governor Ademola Adeleke had admitted that states now receive significantly higher allocations following the removal of fuel subsidy. He maintained that the challenge facing Osun is not a lack of funds but poor management of available resources.

On agriculture, he questioned the whereabouts of the government’s promised cocoa revival programme, Agrepreneur initiative, food banks, livestock production and mechanisation projects, insisting that the people deserve measurable results rather than endless promises.

Speaking on youth development, Dr. Basiru lamented the growing unemployment among young people and the shortage of about 28,000 teachers in public schools. He pledged transparent recruitment, skills development and policies that will create sustainable jobs for Osun youths.

He also stressed that Osun’s tourism, education and other critical sectors require competent and accountable leadership that delivers visible projects, creates opportunities and improves the lives of the people. He urged voters to support AMBO and the APC to usher in a government focused on performance rather than promises.
