Oba Adekunle Aromolaran: A Legendary Custodian of Culture and Tradition has gone-AKOL.


Prof. Siji Olamiju (Akol) has commiserated with himself ,the People of Ijesa land, the Osun State Council of OBAS and Osun State Government over the passing of Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, describing his death as a Catastrophic loss to Ijesa land, Osun State and Nigeria at large.


In a statement issued in Osogbo, Prof. Olamiju, a Politician and Healthcare Practitioner who served as the  Osun Public Health portfolio Manager during the administration of former Governor Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola, extolled Oba Aromolaran's remarkable reign.


" I still enjoy the evergreen album released on  the occasion of your coronation in 1982 by the only Oyinbo Aladamo in Ijesa Kindom and Odofin Iperindo, Late High Chief Adedara Arunra Loja Oba Baba mi Kabiesi Omo a le lere ude gbegbe yade,a fa lere ude gbodo Maalu"


Born on October 13, 1937, Oba Aromolaran ascended the throne in 1982 following the death of Peter Adeniran Olatunji Agunlejiga II. During his 42-year reign, he brought tremendous development to Ijesa land, ranging from infrastructure, local industries, healthcare facilities to cultural upliftments. His love for the people of Ijesa land was second to none. 


A prolific publisher, Oba Aromolaran II, LLD, CFR, had authored over 110 books, leaving a lasting impact on younger generations. Prof. Olamiju hailed him as a very visionary Leader of Ijesa Kingdom..
