Senate visit: Aragbiji sends eulogies to NASS, Oyetola, entourage, hosts, ...Says his joy boundless

Recounting what he referred to as 'resounding successes' recorded on the conclusion of the Public Hearing and consequent promise of speedy passage of the Legislative Bill on the establishment of the proposed Federal University of Agriculture and Development Studies Iragbiji, by the Senate, the host-monarch, Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi Odundun IV, has eulogized the Legislative Body over "its innovative, creative and proactive leadership."

Aragbiji, who presented an address during the technical section of the Senate Public Hearing in Abuja recently, described the leadership of the Nigerian Senate as visionary, selfless, knowledgeable and patriotic.

This description, according to a release by the media office of the traditional ruler, was based on the informed decision and consensus of the Senate over their unique choice of an agriculture-oriented location of Iragbiji for the establishment of the purpose-necessiated specialized University.

"The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, GCON, Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, Senate Majority Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, his Deputy, Lola Ashiru, as well as the Minority Leader of the Senate, Lere Oyewumi, are well-appreciated for their insightful leadership.

"Our special appreciation goes to other distinguished leaders of the Senate, especially the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agricultural Colleges and Institutions, Simon Lalong, and his forward-thinking Committee members, Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, Adeola Olamilekan (Yayi), the Spokesperson of the Senate, Yemi Adaramodu and Senator Wasiu Eshinlokun from Lagos State, including the Clerk and all other career officers of the Legislative Chamber, without forgetting Femi Folajin, an Administrative Director at the Senate, and Bola Ojo, amongst other notable leaders and members."

Specially appreciated for his role and influential stake on the proposed Federal Agriculture University in Iragbiji was the former governor of Osun State and incumbent Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.

Eulogizing the Minister in the statement, Aragbiji said: "Oyetola is our son, in whom we are well pleased for his positive disposition, love and goodwill for Iragbiji, and his human capacity building efforts, especially as once again demonstrated over the proposed federal institution.

"Also very important given their role as hosts during my sojourn in Abuja with my entourage regarding the recently concluded Public Hearing on the proposed University are my indigenous sons and daughters residing in the Capital City.

"Ogunwole Olusegun Jonathan and other subjects resident in Abuja deserve a royal trophy for playing what seemed like nostalgic hosts to me and my team from home."

It was in the news that Oba Olabomi left Iragbiji for Abuja on Tuesday, October 22, for the Public Hearing on the Legislative Bill seeking Senate approval for the establishment of the Federal University in Iragbiji, and returned from Abuja on Friday, October 25, 2024.
