Democracy Day: APC Spain Chairman, Amb. Adeayo Tella, Congratulates Nigerians ....Urges Support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda
In commemoration of Nigeria’s Democracy Day, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Spain and Secretary General of the Diaspora APC Committee Chairmen, Ambassador Adeayo Tella, has extended heartfelt congratulations to all Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora. He hailed the enduring spirit of the Nigerian people and emphasized the importance of safeguarding the democratic ideals for which so many heroes fought and sacrificed.
In a statement released to the media from Madrid, Ambassador Tella described June 12 as a day of reflection and celebration — a symbol of the collective struggle of Nigerians to free the nation from the grip of military dictatorship and establish a government truly representative of the people's will.
“Democracy Day stands as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by our forefathers and pro-democracy activists who fought valiantly for the liberties we now enjoy. It is a day to honour their legacy and renew our commitment to democratic values, good governance, and national unity,” he stated.
Ambassador Tella used the occasion to call on Nigerians to rally behind the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda as a transformative vision for the country’s progress.
“Since assuming office in 2023, President Tinubu has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to rebuilding the Nigerian economy, fostering inclusive development, and restoring trust in public institutions. The Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a slogan; it is a blueprint for national rebirth, grounded in integrity, innovation, and results,” Tella affirmed.
He urged Nigerians to remain patient, steadfast, and supportive of the President’s policies, noting that sustainable change often requires time, collective effort, and the resilience of the citizenry.
“As we celebrate this Democracy Day, let us embrace unity and purpose. Let us rise above division and work together to strengthen our democracy and realize the great potential of our nation. Supporting President Tinubu’s administration is, in many ways, supporting the future of a prosperous Nigeria,” he concluded.
Ambassador Tella also commended Nigerians in the diaspora for their continued contributions to national development, encouraging them to remain active participants in the democratic process through civic engagement and investment in their homeland.
