Eid-el-Adha: Osun Amotekun Corps Congratulates Muslims, Urges Peaceful and Moderate Celebration
The Management of the Osun Amotekun Corps has extended warm congratulations to all Muslim faithful across Osun State on the occasion of the 2025 Eid-el-Adha (Eid al-Kabir) celebration.
In a statement released to the press in Osogbo, the State Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Chief Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, commended the spirit of sacrifice, obedience, and devotion that defines the Islamic festival. He emphasized the relevance of Prophet Ibrahim’s (Abraham’s) unwavering faith and willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail in fulfillment of a divine command a profound story that forms the cornerstone of the Eid-el-Adha observance.
“On behalf of the entire leadership and operatives of the Osun Amotekun Corps, I congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters in Osun State and around the world on the successful arrival of this year’s Eid-el-Adha. This sacred occasion is a reminder of the power of faith, the importance of obedience to God, and the virtue of selfless sacrifice,” the Corps Commander said.
Chief Omoyele further urged celebrants to observe the festivities in a peaceful and moderate manner, in line with both religious teachings and communal values. He reminded citizens that while Eid is a time for joy and celebration, it is also a period of reflection, generosity, and compassion—especially toward the less privileged in society.
The Corps Commander assured residents that Osun Amotekun Corps, in collaboration with other security agencies, remains fully committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment before, during, and after the Sallah celebrations. He called on all residents to be vigilant and law-abiding, and to report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
He concluded by praying for continued peace, unity, and prosperity in Osun State and Nigeria at large.
