The Executive Director, Marine and Operations of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Engr. Olalekan Badmus, has distributed not less than 250 bags of 50kg rice and other support items to citizens and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State to mark the Christmas celebration.
The distribution, which majorly covered Osogbo, Olorunda, Irepodun and Orolu local government areas, was aimed at supporting people and extending good gesture to party members with a view to strengthening unity within the APC.
According to the breakdown, 40 bags of rice were distributed in Osogbo Local Government Area, while 38 bags went to Olorunda Local Government. Irepodun Local Government received 30 bags, while 20 bags of rice were distributed in Orolu Local Government Area.
In addition to the food items, over N25 million in cash was also doled out to party leaders and stakeholders across the state as part of the Christmas support package.
In a statement made available by the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Dr. Damilare Adeyemi, described the gesture as part of Engr. Badmus’ commitment to supporting party members at the grassroots and ensuring that APC leaders and stakeholders feel the impact of the party beyond politics.
He added that the intervention was also meant to appreciate the loyalty, sacrifices and continued support of party members, while encouraging them to remain united and focused ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
Speaking with journalists, Dr. Adeyemi thanked the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, H.E. Adegboyega Oyetola CON, for his support, leadership and clear vision, which he said had contributed greatly to the success of their boss at the Nigerian Ports Authority.
“Our leader, boss and compass has provided the right vision, direction and encouragement that have enabled our mentor to perform effectively. His support has been invaluable, and we remain grateful for his leadership,” he said.
Adeyemi reassured APC members of Badmus’ continued commitment to the party, saying the APC remained strong and focused on delivering good governance and improving the welfare of its members and the people at large.
“Together we will continue to strengthen the party from the grassroots. I urge our leaders and stakeholders to remain united, loyal and committed, as better days lie ahead for the APC,” he added.
